Radio Tierra 2019

2019 was an exciting year for Radio Tierra.
Thanks to the continuing support of all the community memebers in the Gorge. Radio Tierra turned 15. And to help celebrate we were thankful to be able to host our very first live Radio-Thon at the Columbia Center for the Arts.
Radio Tierra was created in April of 2009, Earth Day to be exact. Through hard work and perseverance many community members worked tirelessly to get Radio Tierra off the ground. Walking door to door to community members and businesses, looking for volunteers and asking for donations to buy equipment. Many hours were put into acquiring training to instal, maintain and run community radio station. In 2004 Radio Tierra received its license to operate as a low-powered FM community radio station.
Since it’s creation Radio Tierra and its volunteers have strived to educate and entertain our community with bilingual programing and toe tapping entertainment.
And if turning 15 wasn’t enough, we had the great opportunity to co-sponsor a Families In the Park Event with Hood River County Community Ed. Stay tuned for Radio Tierra’s Families in the Park day 2020.
