Party in the library!

The Hood River County Library Foundation invites you to the Hood River Library on Saturday, March 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm for their annual fundraiser, A Feast of Words. Enjoy delicious food, decadent desserts, beverages from Viento Wines, Thunder Island Brewing and Dog River Coffee, and live music while bidding on silent and live auctions.

Music will be provided by The Quiet American. Sponsors include Insitu, Michael & Angela Schock, Haynie DMD @HR Dental, Columbia State Bank, Duckwall Fruit, Gorge Networks, Sheppard’s, Best Western PLUS Hood River Inn, Farm Stand in the Gorge, Gorge-Us Photography, and Little Shredders Dental.

The Library Foundation aims to raise $30,000 this year, which will be used to support and improve library services in the communities of Cascade Locks and Odell. In Cascade Locks, funds will help develop the Cascade Locks Branch at its new location in the Cascade Locks Elementary School, a space that is almost three times larger and will feature a defined kids, teen and adult area. There will also be a large area to hold library programs, complete with a home theater system for showing movies and hosting presentations. In addition, funds will also help purchase technology, new furniture and shelving units for the space.

In Odell, the District is working to provide regular library service to Odell, a community that currently does not have a physical library branch. Funds raised at the Feast of Words will help fund programs for all ages, technology access and a weekly bookmobile in Odell.

Tickets are $25 each and are available at any library branch, Volcanic Bottle Shoppe, Waucoma Bookstore and at the door day of the event.
