Estos últimos meses de 2023 el equipo de Radio Tierra se ha estado renovando con nuevos miembros que vienen a continuar la tradición de voluntarios en nuestra radio. Sin el trabajo y el tiempo de los que participan como locutores, producción, programación, recaudación de donaciones, mesa directiva, mantenimiento, entre otras actividades, la radio no podría existir. Es importante mencionar que la radio esta al aire las 24 horas del día y se necesita monitorear constantemente, que este funcionando adecuadamente.
Queremos darle la bienvenida a Jenny Vazquez (Secretaría y Recaudación de Fondos), Gaby Macias (Comunicaciones y Tesorera), Tita Verduzco (Recaudación de Fondos), Arturo Leyva (Producción & Programación) y agradecemos a Garret Sharp (Presidente), Sonia Marquez (Vice Presidente y programación), y Norberto Maahs (previo tesorero), por continuar su labor de voluntarios en Radio Tierra.
De la misma manera queremos darle las gracias a todo nuestro talento de locutores que son los que con su creatividad y su tiempo le dan vida a Radio Tierra. Queremos por medio de este articulo invitar a la comunidad a ser parte de este proyecto y a poner su talento en producción, locución, recaudación de fondos o en la mesa directiva, para ayudar a que este proyecto comunitario, como lo es Radio Tierra, siga proporcionando información y musica para toda la comunidad.
Dia Del Migrante en White Salmon.
Este lunes 18 de Diciembre nos toco asistir al evento #DiaDelMigrante que organizamos en conjunto con Comunidades, Hood River Latino Network, WGAP & Columbia Riverkepper un evento con Comida, musica, informacion y personas que contaron su experiencia en este pais como migrantes como lo fueron Lorena Salazar y Leoni Montenegro. La comida estuvo a cargo de nuestros amigos de Lake Taco quienes llevaron aguas frescas y 6 opciones para hacer tacos, todas deliciosas.
Fue muy agradable ver a mucha gente de nuestra comunidad dandose cita para celebrar este que festeja a todo la gente que dejo su pais por buscar un futuro mejor. Para cerrar el evento tuvimos a los jovenes de Trayecto Efectivo un grupo musical muy talentoso que con su musica y carisma alegraron esta celebracion.
Agradecemos a Ubaldo Hernandez de comunidades.org por invitarnos a ser parte de este evento y por seguir apoyando a Radio Tierra para servir mejor a nuestra comunidad. Hay que decir que Sonia Marquez (Vice Presidente) de Radio Tierra asistió al evento y estuvo platicando con nuevos talentos para que sean parte del equipo de la radio.
Muchas gracias a todos por asistir al evento y los esperamos el proximo año para celebrar El Dia Del Migrante. Se estan planenando varios eventos para nuestra comunidad esten pendientes escuchando Radio Tierra y visitando este sitio.

DJ Boom is Nan Noteboom.
Nan Is a teacher at Hood River Valley High School. She used to have a show called Habla HRV on Radio Tierra. Nan is member of the Parks and Recreation Board of Directors, and her show, Párques y más is meant to inform Radio Tierra listeners about the opportunities available to them in the local area.
The shows airs the first and third Thursday of each month 4:00- 4:30pm.
DJ Tita is Martha Ortega-Verduzco.
Martha works for the Wasco County DA’s office, and joined the Parks Board this last spring as a Director. Martha provides Spanish translation on the show Parques y más, and is a bridge between the Latinx community and the rest of the Parks District. She hopes to make sure everyone knows about parks, trails and recreation, no matter what language they speak.

“I’m DJ Grok (aka Chris) and “The Grok Show” is every Tuesday night, 6-7 pm. I started DJing 19 years ago and that’s when my passion for collecting vinyl began. My collection now stands at approximately 2,500 records, spanning genres from jazz, to classic rock, classical, hip hop, house, trance, trip hop, downtempo, country, reggae, disco, funk, latin jazz, bossa nova, mambo, cha-cha, salsa, classical, and just about everything in between. Each week I bring my trusty 19-year old Technics turntables to the Radio Tierra studio to provide a set of vinyl-exclusive tunes from my collection. Each week I choose a theme that might be genre-specific, highlight a featured artist, or featured artist duo, or some other creative musical concoction. I enjoy sharing some information about an artist, or might share upcoming astronomical events.”
